Salvation Army and Toys-for-Tots distribute thousands of Christmas gifts for children

In 2023, 20,00 toys were donated to the children of Champaign County and the total number of gifts in 2024 will be known following the event. This event is made possible thanks to over 200 volunteers assisting the families in registering gifts, transporting toys, and settings up the toy shop.

Illinois minimum wage set to increase from $14 to $15 per hour in January

The State of Illinois recently announced the minimum wage increase from the initial $14 per hour to $15. The minimum wage for tipped workers will increase to $9 per hour and workers under 18 working fewer than 650 hours per year will be increased to $13 per hour.
