Morrissey Park parkrun celebrates its one-year anniversary

Parkrun started in the United Kingdom and now has over 2,500 locations in 23 countries including 80 in the United States, with four in Illinois. The Morrisey Park parkrun held its first event on May 4, 2024, and will be celebrating its one year anniversary on May 10. Morrisey Park has had a total of 47 events with 884 finishes from 266 participants.

Christie Clinic Illinois Race Weekend organizes CPR training program

The final session is on Friday, April 25 at 3:00 p.m. The program will be open to the public interested in taking part. The training will be a part of Race Weekend and will also take place inside Memorial Stadium. The program was created after last year’s Race Weekend, where 45-year-old Christie surgeon Rafael Ruggieri suffered a cardiac arrest while running in the Christie Clinic Illinois Half Marathon.
