Danville man arrested for first-degree murder

Danville Police have arrested 44-year-old Shane A. May in connection with the murder of Monty Peplow, following an eight-hour investigation that began with a call about a deceased individual in a home on the 700 block of Sherman Street.

Champaign entrance ramp closed due to oversize load on shoulder

The ramp in Champaign is temporarily closed due to an oversize load that slid off the roadway onto the shoulder. A recovery is currently in progress. The closure is predicted to last less than two hours.

City of Champaign announces multiple road closures for special events

Park Avenue will be closed between Randolph Street and the entrance to Hickory Point Bank. The closure will be from Wednesday, April 23 through Saturday, April 26. This will be done in order to facilitate Ebertfest 2025 at the Virginia Theater. Numerous temporary street closures will also occur in order to facilitate Illinois Race Weekend activities. The closures will begin Thursday, April 24 through Saturday, April 26.

ISP granted funding to target vehicle theft and hijacking

February 26, 2025, ISP located a stolen Kia and attempted a traffic stop on I-94 southbound at 76th Street in Chicago, but the Kia fled. ​ The Kia parked at Maple Avenue and Campbell Road and six occupants ran from the vehicle. ​ ISP took all six occupants into custody.
