URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – A man charged in a hit-and-run that claimed the lives of two young women is now facing federal charges for possessing fraudulent documents identifying him as a U.S. citizen.

Julio Cucul Bol, 29, a citizen of Guatemala, was indicted by a federal grand jury on several counts including possession of a false permanent resident card, a false Social Security card, false use of a passport, and making a false statement on a bank application.

According to the indictment, Bol falsely identified himself as “Juan Jahaziel Saenz Suarez” in a Nov. 10, 2023, application to JP Morgan Chase Bank and allegedly used a fraudulent passport as part of that application. This false identity was also initially used by police following the January 19 hit-and-run incident that resulted in two fatalities.

Further charges allege that Bol was in possession of counterfeit permanent resident and Social Security cards on the day of the fatal crash.

If convicted, Bol faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each of the document-related offenses. The bank fraud charge carries a potential sentence of up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million.

The investigation into Bol’s actions was led by the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Urbana Police Department.
