CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Champaign Farmers Market is returning to its former home at the corner of Neil and Washington, now nestled beside the city’s newly completed Downtown Plaza. Beginning Tuesday, June 10, the market—hosted by The Land Connection—will take place every Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. through October 28.
Organizers from both The Land Connection and the City of Champaign say they’re thrilled about the market’s relocation and new amenities, calling it an exciting enhancement for local residents and visitors alike.
In addition to the market’s fresh produce and local goods, the City of Champaign is launching a new musical series called Rhythm and Roots, which will feature live performances from the Plaza’s main stage each week. Marketgoers can enjoy the music while shopping, relaxing in the experience tent, or playing family-friendly games.
A new Downtown Festival District designation will also allow adults to sip alcoholic beverages purchased from nearby participating establishments as they stroll through the market or enjoy the entertainment on the Plaza lawn.
