CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Parkland College is launching a new workforce collaborative for employers beginning in January.

This collaborative, known as the Parkland Workforce Collaborative, is a community of employers dedicated to sharing ideas, addressing workforce challenges, and driving innovation in talent development. This group will cover:

  • Best practices for talent recruitment and retention.
  • Leveraging funding opportunities to upskill employees.
  • Strategies for engaging the next generation of workers.

There will be monthly meetings, guest speakers, and peer discussions. Employers will be able to share experiences and provide solutions to today’s workforce. Collaborators can help shape the future workforce.

“Through numerous conversations with employers, my colleagues at the Regional Planning Commission and I have discovered that many share the same challenges,” said Aimee Densmore, Director of Apprenticeship Programs at Parkland. “Along the way, we’ve exchanged great ideas—both from employers and from our own team—and shared them during one-on-one discussions. But we wanted to go further. That’s why we created the Collaborative—a space where these employers can come together, connect, and exchange insights directly with one another.”

The first session is on Tuesday, January 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Teams and you can sign up at  parkland.edu/pwc.
