DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – A 59-year-old Danville man was recently found guilty on six counts of class X predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and currently faces the sentence of natural life in prison.

Two individuals under the age of 18 came forward to the Danville Police Department (DPD) to report the sexual abuse of Danville man Robert Musson. Musson had reportedly abused the two individuals at separate times between the years 2016 and 2020. The DPD investigated Musson through interviews and the help of the Vermilion County Child Advocacy Center and the Peoria Child Advocacy Center.

DPD found through investigation that Musson had threatened to murder the victims if they had told anyone about his abuse. Despite this, the victims bravely managed to come forward anyways with their stories and have rightfully had locked up Musson for his crimes.

“These children have been through unfathomable trauma at the hands of someone they should have been able to trust. This sexual predator caused unbelievable suffering for the victims and their families, but the courage displayed by both victims in their cooperation with police and in facing their abuser in court showed true strength,” said State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy.

His sentencing hearing is set for October 11.
