MONTICELLO, IL (Chambana Today) – The University of Illinois Extension is hosting a program on important insects in maintaining healthy gardens.

The Growing Community program, hosted by the DeWitt and Piatt Master Gardeners, presents Beneficial Insects: Garden Warriors from noon to 1:00 p.m. on June 17 at the Piatt County Extension office in Monticello. Participants will learn how to identify beneficial insects and learn how they manage the pest populations in the garden.

“It’s a buggy world, but not all insects that we find in our gardens are pests,” says Horticulture Program Coordinator Beth Miglin. “Learn how to identify these garden warriors at this free Growing Community program.”

Participants are asked to register by June 16 at go.illinois.edu/MGwarriors.
