CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Aimee Heeter will become the vice chancellor for finance at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).

Heeter is currently the vice provost for finance and administration at Indiana University. Her position as vice chancellor will be effective August 1, pending approval by the University of Illinois Board of Trustees. Heeter will be the first person to hold this new senior-level position at Illinois. Her experience includes 23 years of higher education, budget planning, financial administration, internal controls, foundation management and auxiliary services.

“Aimee Heeter’s skillset uniquely positions her to understand the financial needs of a large, public institution,” said Chancellor Robert Jones. “Her ability to bridge the gap between financial strategy and academic priorities aligns perfectly with the needs of the vice chancellor for finance position here at Illinois.”

She earned a doctorate in higher education finance, a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s degree in journalism, from Indiana University. The new title brings the UIUC campus in line with similar positions at the two other campuses at the University of Illinois System. The duties and reporting lines of the position, however, still remain the same.
