Blood products are extremely important to summer safety with millions of Americans traveling around and engaging in outdoor activities. The risk of accidents are steadily increasing and keeping blood donation appointments remain extremely important during in May during Trauma Awareness Month. Type O blood and platelet donors are important to meet the needs of hospitals. Volunteer donors can be essential to the recovery of accident victims who needs hundreds of blood units from transfusions.
