CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Prairielands Council of the Boy Scouts of America announced they are hosting The Smilin’ Pumpkin Outdoor Sports Fest, a sports festival with fun camp activities.

The Smilin’ Pumpkin Outdoor Sports Fest promises tons of outdoor fun with activities such as shooting sports, games, and pedal cars. The event will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Camp Robert Drake near Catlin, IL. Individuals can take in the scenery of Camp Drake including the the hiking trails by the Salt Fork River surrounded by the beautiful fall colors. The event also serves as a great opportunity to introduce current Cub Scouts to the world of Scouting.

Cub Scouting offers children a chance to discover new skills, explore their community, and engage in indoor and outdoor activities that build confidence through positive experiences. Participants are encouraged to bring a friend to enjoy a day full of fun activities and adventure. The winter chill sets in soon, so don’t miss out on some fall fun! While any age can register, the event is primarily aimed at boys and girls aged five to 11 years old. The entry fee is $10.00 per child.

Participants for the event can register on the day of the activity at the Camp Drake Dining Hall, adjacent to the main parking area.
