CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Champaign County Bike Month (CCBM) makes its return starting off with Bike to Work Day on September 18 from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

CCBM is an annual celebration that features a variety of bike-related activities all throughout September to encourage people to ride their bikes more. Events include Bike to Work Day on Wednesday, September 18, and Light the Night on Thursday, September 19, with alternative dates if there is rain on the day of any of these events.

Bike To Work Day features 16 welcome stations where bikers will have access to breakfast, a t-shirt, and bike-related information. Light the Night will have 3 locations, Alma Mater, Hallene Gateway, and the Ikenberry Commons Quad. At each of these locations, you can pick up a free light for your bike. Illinois state law requires bikes to have lights when riding after dark.

Bike to Work Day requires individuals to pre-register to register or volunteer. For more information, visit cubikemonth.weebly.com.
