CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – In honor of Child Abuse Awareness Month, the Champaign County Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) invites the public to an Open House.
This open house takes place on April 25 at the CAC facility at 201 W. Kenyon in Champaign from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. The event provides an inside look into the center’s work, supporting children and families affected by sexual and serious abuse.
Attendees will be able to:
- Tour the facility and learn how it provides a safe, child-friendly space for young victims of abuse.
- Meet with forensic interviewers, ffamily advocates, and law enforcement partners to gain insight into their roles.
- Learn about CAC’s multidisciplinary approach to investigating and responding to child abuse cases.
- Discover available resources for child abuse prevention and support in Champaign County.
“We are committed to protecting and supporting children who have experienced abuse,” said Elizabeth Lebs, Family Advocate. “By opening our doors to the public and the media, we aim to raise awareness of the services available and encourage our community to take an active role in child abuse prevention.”
