CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Champaign County Crime Stoppers (CCCS) announced their brand-new Law Enforcement Coordinator Lieutenant Greg Manzana today.

CCCS is a community-based program created to reduce crime and solve cases around Champaign County. They provide a platform for individuals to submit tips about crimes and get cash rewards if those tips lead to an arrest. They have been serving for over 40 years and has assisted in over 2,248 cases, recovering over $2 million in recovered property and narcotics. Their Law Enforcement Coordinator position is responsible for communicating and coordinating with local law enforcement agencies.

“It is an honor to work with Champaign County Crime Stoppers in this new capacity. The Champaign Police Department has a long history of working cooperatively with Crime Stoppers as a way to accept anonymous tips from the public in order to solve crime and protect our communities. I look forward to building upon the long legacy of excellent service Crime Stoppers has provided to residents across Champaign County for nearly four decades,” said Lt. Manzana.

Lt. Manzana has over 22 years of experience in law enforcement and currently serves as the Investigations Lieutenant for the Champaign Police Department. His predecessor, Deputy Chief Geoff Coon, served as the third ever Law Enforcement Coordinator for the last ten years. Lt. Manzana will be the fourth.
