CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Champaign County Crime Stoppers is requesting assistance from the public regarding a retail theft.
The retail theft happened on October 21, at approximately 2:21 p.m. at a Dick’s Warehouse at 63 East Marketview Drive in Champaign. The male suspect entered the Dick’s and headed immediately to the footwear department. He then changed out of his shoes and filled his backpack with multiple shoes out of the boxes. The thief’s female accomplice chose a selection of shoes for the man to steal. The man then left the store and emptied all the contents of his backpack into the van and then returned for a second load of shoes in the store.
The stolen contents were valued at over $1,200.00. Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects captured on video. The suspects were described as a black male and black female at appearing at approximately 20-30 years old. The male was seen with a white hat, white polo, and black pants. The female had long braided hair and wore a red long-sleeved shirt and dark pants.
