CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Registration for the Countywide Residential Electronics Convention (CREC) officially opens up this Monday. Interested attendees must register online in advance and reserve a time slot for themselves.
CREC is an event held in Champaign County where residents can safely dispose of their unused/unwanted electronics in an effort to prevent environmental damage. This event ensures that electronic waste is disposed of/recycled properly and promotes sustainability. The registration opens up on Monday, September 2 and must be done online to reserve a 15-minute time slot. The event will take place at Parkland College at from 8:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday, October 12.
There is a list of acceptable and non-acceptable items on the website. Residents will have a four television limit per household and a seven electronic limit overall. Regardless of weather, CREC will still be held at Parkland College, with minimal wait times during severe weather.
