Champaign Fire Department hosts ice rescue technician training

CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Champaign Fire Department (CFD) will be hosting ice rescue technician training.

The training will take place from January 24 and 25 at Kaufman Lake in Champaign. The instructors from Muddy River Divers will be teaching firefighters from the CFD, with other area fire departments the techniques for ice rescue. Classroom training begins at Champaign Fire Department Station 6 on 3911 W Windsor Rd and will transition to hands-on training at Kaufman Lake. Day one of the training is Ice Rescue Technician followed by an Ice Rescue Train-the Trainer on day two.
