URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – Cunningham Children’s Home is transforming spaces to make healing places.

Cunningham’s received a $2,500 grant from the Walmart of Savoy last fall, allowing for a new calming paint job, fluorescent light replacements warm lamps, and updating outdated furniture at HopeSprings Counseling Services.

“We want our clients to feel at ease the moment they walk through the door—from the waiting room to their first meeting with our intake team, and throughout the incredible work they do with our therapists,” Dawn said.

The transformation is underway, but more help is needed for healing. Through their “Sensory Spaces, Hopeful Faces” campaign, support to Cunningham’s can go to maintaining sensory-friendly spaces at HopeSprings, CIRCLE Academy (both locations), the Spiritual Life Center, the Residential Treatment Center and Gerber School. With help from the community, they have raised a total of $46,528, with their goal of $65,000 by June 6.
