DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – A man from Danville recently pleaded guilty to Aggravated Domestic Battery – Strangulation and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon and has been sentenced to prison.
Glenn Mott, formerly of Danville, pleaded guilty on Friday, October 4 to Aggravated Domestic Battery, a class 2 felony and Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, a class 3 felony. He has been sentenced to 5 years for each felony charge at the Illinois Department of Corrections ran concurrently with a mandatory supervised release. On June 18, the Danville Police Department responded to a domestic battery report.
The victim had reported that her boyfriend slammed her to the floor, pointed a handgun at her face, threatened her with it, and choked her until she temporarily lost consciousness. A witness reported the victim had shouted for Mott to leave the residence and Mott had threatened to kill her. Luckily, the victim was able to escape and call for help. The officers had searched the residence and found a loaded gun the victim had described.
