DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – A driver was pulled over and arrested for possession of an illegal firearm.

Members of the Danville Police Department Community Housing Unit and Problem Oriented Policing Unit stopped a vehicle on Friday, January 17 at around 9:00 a.m. The members stopped the vehicle due to an expired registration plate and pulled over the driver who was identified as 21-year-old Anthony T. Gouard of Danville. The vehicle stopped and Gouard exited and fled from the officers who ordered him to stop. Eventually, officers caught up to Goaurd and took him into custody.

During Goaurd’s search, the officers found an illegal firearm and he was subsequently arrested and transported to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building. Goaurd was booked on Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon.
