DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – Danville Police Officers responded to a report of shots being fired around the Chandler St. area. They rushed onto the scene to find a 30-year-old Danville man with a gunshot wound.

On Tuesday, the Danville Police Department received several 911 calls of shots fired on the 1100 block of Chandler St. They quickly arrived on the scene to find scattered bullet shell casings spread along the roadway. Further up the street, at the 1300 of Chandler, they found a man suffering and bleeding from a serious gunshot wound seated in a white vehicle.

Witnesses in the area have reported hearing several gunshots before seeing a dark vehicle swiftly sped away from the scene of the crime. The man was then transported to the hospital where he is currently listed as in serious condition. The Danville Police Department urges the community to assist and come forward with information about the shooting.
