DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – The Danville Police Department arrested an individual wanted on a a warrant out of the State of Texas.
On Saturday, April 19, around 4:30 p.m., members of the Danville Police Department Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Unit observed a subject known to officers as 24-year-old Richard B. Sanford-Beasley, housed in Danville. The POP officers had information on Sanford-Beasley’s warrant. A K9 handler officer attempted to approach Sanford-Beasley, who ran away. Sanford-Beasley was witnessed to drop a firearm, discovered to be loaded. He was apprehended and placed into custody.
The officers then transported Sanford-Beasley to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building, booked on charges of being Wanted on a Warrant, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Obstructing/Resisting a Peace Officer.
The Danville Police Department reminds the public that all subjects arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
