DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – The Danville Police Department (DPD) is hosting the Citizens Police Academy.
The Academy offers classes on a variety of law enforcement topics over a nine week period. They meet once a week from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. every Thursday evening at the Danville Police Training Center. The purpose of the classes are to provide information about the DPD and no tests are given. There are no costs or fees. The Academy takes place from April 7 to June 12 excluding June 5.
Class topics include:
- Patrol Operations/Traffic Enforcement
- Criminal Investigations
- Crime Scene (CSI)
- Emergency Response Unit (SWAT)
- Legal Issues
- Canine (K-9)
- Gang awareness/shooting investigations
- Drug Enforcement
- Crime Stoppers
