MONTICELLO, IL (Chambana Today) – The DeWitt and Piatt Master Gardeners will be hosting a look into the history and symbolism of flowers at the January Growing Community Program.

The event will delve into the art of floriography, the language of flowers. The event, The Meaning of Flowers: Floriography, will take place on January 21 at noon. It will be located at the Piatt County Extension Office. The language of flowers dates back to the Victorian Era with each flower conveying a special meaning.

“Should you send a red or white rose to the one you love,” said Horticulture Program Coordinator Beth Miglin. “Learn the language of flowers and how to send the most appropriate floral message to your friends and family.”
