CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The East Central Illinois Business Team (ECI Business Team) is a new coalition launching in November to meet the business needs across local counties.
The ECI Business Team “brings together key organizations to provide streamlined services and resources for local businesses seeking workforce solutions, employee training, and economic development support.” They aim to support business needs from employers based in Iroquois, Ford, Champaign, Douglas, and Piatt Counties. They will make it easier for businesses to access programs including professional training opportunities, employee recruitment services, and resources for job seekers and employers.
The initiative is driven by Champaign County Regional Planning Commission (RPC), the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES), the Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Rehabilitation Services (IDHS/DRS), Parkland College, and the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce.
“We are excited to introduce this partnership to the East Central Illinois business community,” says Cassandra Dunham, Chair of the ECI Business Team. “Our shared objective is to cultivate a skilled and competent workforce that aligns with the demands of today’s employers and fosters economic growth throughout our region.”
Businesses interested in learning more about the services provided by the ECI Business Team are encouraged to contact Cassandra Dunham, Chair of the ECI Business Team, at cdunham@ccrpc.org or 217-531-8276.
