CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – This morning, an individual was arrested for making a threat on social media mentioning Parkland College’s campus.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Champaign Police Department (CPD), and Parkland College Public Safety all worked together to investigate the threat mentioning Parkland. The law enforcement aimed to mitigate this threat off campus within the Champaign-Urbana community. Parkland then coordinated with the CPD to increase police presence on campus in caution of the threat.
The arrest was made and there is no longer an ongoing threat at this time. CPD is the main agency regarding this investigation. Additional details are pending.
