CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Fighting Illini are set to host the Aurora Spartans today.

Illinois baseball is making its return to Illinois Field in Champaign as the earliest outdoor home opener in program history, beating last season on Februrary 27, 2024. The Illini claimed a series victory to begin the 2025 campaign at Texas State. Illinois went 20-3 at Illinois Field last season, marking the first time since 2015 that the Fighting Illini won 20 games in one season.
