SAVOY, IL (Chambana Today) – Frances A. Pace, 91, passed away October 24, 2024 at Accolade Healthcare of Savoy, Savoy, IL.
Frances was born in Torrington, CT, the first child of the late Vincent M. Buzinsky, and Mildred L. Bosworth. Frances was the wife of the late Frank Pace Jr., who died in 2015, for sixty-two years. Frances leaves a son Richard Pace and daughter-in-law Joy Donato Pace of Champaign, IL. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Kathryn Pace and spouse Jill Weinstein, and Michelle Pace.
Frances is survived by two brothers, Vincent G. Buzinsky of Winsted CT, and Charles Buzinsky (Christina) of Wallingford, CT, and half-sister Lillian Toller (Paul) of Meriden, CT. She was predeceased by sisters Mildred Petrunti, and Sandra Puhalski. Frances is also survived by brother-in-law Ronald Pace, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Frances’s family moved from Torrington to Winsted at the age of one. She attended Winsted, CT schools and then lived most of her life in Torrington, CT. Frances resided the last nine years in Champaign, IL. Frances worked at Technicraft in Thomaston CT and The Torrington Company in Torrington, CT. Later she obtained certificates from Tunxis Community College, Post College, and Northwestern Connecticut, and honed her attention to detail work into an office position supporting Fireman’s Fund Insurance staff in Avon and Farmington CT, where she retired.
Frances was a member of St. Peter’s church in Torrington, CT and Holy Cross church in Champaign, IL., St. Therese Shrine, Darien, IL, and The National Shrine of Divine Mercy, Stockbridge, MA.
We’ll remember Frances’s hospitality and hosting many family gatherings, love of cooking, production of Ma Pace’s cookbook for her son and grandchildren, long cross-country drives with sauce, meatballs, prune roll and chocolate crescents, long walks with Frank, a butterfly garden, love of butterflies and trips to the butterfly farm, relentless coordination of jewelry/clothes/hats/scarfs pre-filling pockets with coordinated items, her beautiful smile and generous heart.
