SPRINGFIELD, IL (Chambana Today) – Illinois finished 46th overall among all 50 states in the premier analysis of state economic outlook in the 18th edition of Rich States, Poor States.
The American Legislative Exchange Council released the 18th edition of Rich States, Poor States: ALEC-Laffer State Economic Competitiveness Index recently. The report, co-authored by Reagan economist Dr. Arthur B. Laffer, policy expert Stephen Moore, and ALEC President and Chief Economist Jonathan Williams, reveal their take on which states are poised to lead America’s economic recovery.
Illinois has been consistently in the bottom 10 for all 18 editions of the report. Illinois now suffers the nation’s third-lowest job growth. Utah claimed the top spot in economic outlook with 18 consecutive years. Louisiana made the biggest move from 31st to 18th overall
