CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association reecently announced that it will be awarding over $58,000 in college scholarships.
These scholarships will be awarded throughout the state of Illinois to students who seek a higher education during the 2025-2026 academic year. These scholarships will only apply to tuition, books, and fees.
Requirements for the scholarship are listed below:
- The student must be enrolled full-time at a certified institution of higher learning in the State of Illinois (online learning is also acceptable)
- Applicants must be permanent Illinois residents
- Scholarships must be used at higher learning institutions in the State of Illinois
- Students must be full time during the 2025-2026 school year (excluding summer sessions)
Sheriff Dustin Heuerman of Champaign County will be awarding one scholarship of $500.00. There are no restrictions on race, age, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Applications are open at ilsheriff.org/youth-2. Students must complete the application, answer the essay question, and return all documentation to the Sheriff’s office in their permanent county of residents by March 14, 2025.
