PESOTUM, IL (Chambana Today) – Illinois State Police (ISP) Troop 7 Commander, Captain Brian Dickmann announced in a press release today the results of its Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement (ACE) patrols in Macon and Vermillion Counties.
These patrols took place on Friday, September 20 and helped the ISP in “preventing, detecting, and taking enforcement action in response to violations associated with impaired driving and illegal transportation or consumption of alcohol or drugs.” The use of alcohol and drugs while driving is estimated to contribute to over 47% of all fatal motor crashes in Illinois. The ACE program helps to stop these dangerous offenders and remove them from the road to lower crash rates.
