MONTICELLO, IL (Chambana Today) – DeWitt and Piatt Master Gardeners is inviting interested individuals to learn indoor gardening at Indoor Edible Gardens.

Indoor gardening is a fun and cost-effective activity that allows families to enjoy fresh produce all year. At Indoor Edible Gardens, you can learn to grow your favorite vegetables indoors in small spaces. The event will take place at noon on March 18 at the Piatt County Extension Office. Participants will learn how to grow fresh herbs, salad greens, and microgreens and will leave with a micro tomato plant to grow at home.

“Gardening is not limited to outside in the summer, says Horticulture Program Coordinator Beth Miglin. “You might be amazed by how many food crops you can actually grow indoors.”

Some vegetables and fruit can be grown indoors with the correct growing environment, providing fresh produce all year long.

The program is free but participants are asked to register by March 17 at go.illinois.edu/EdibleGardens.
