CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Local 28-year-old man, Dante Joseph Scott, also known as “DJ Slim”, was recently arrested for the production and distribution of child pornography.

Scott, according to LinkedIn, was a Library Assistant and Associate for the Champaign Public Library and had been for at least 5 years. He was also listed as the owner of Slim Entertainment, LLC, which provided “Professional & high quality entertainment services for any event or venue! Specializing in all genres of music and all cultures. Building community one record at a time!” He was also an entertainment manager for The Beat, an initiative launched by the City of Champaign aimed at enhancing the downtown entertainment district.

He was also recognized on Central Illinois Magazine’s 40 Under Forty 2023, which recognizes young professionals for their achievements, experience, innovation, leadership and community involvement in Champaign-Urbana. The arrest was recorded as “booked” on Monday, September 9. This was not Scott’s first arrest, with two counts of retail theft in 2015 and 2016, and a count of driving under the influence in 2021.

Scott’s most recent arrest, according to official arrest records, was for the reproduction and the selling of child pornography. Under federal law, the production of child pornography can lead to 15 to 30 years in prison and up to 20 years for distribution and possession.
