The Consolidated Municipal Election is April 1. In-person early voting begins March 12 at the Brookens Administrative Center and opens at county-wide locations on March 24.

URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – The two candidates running for Savoy Village President will be speaking at the Savoy Municipal Center.

These two candidates, incumbent President John Brown and Village Trustee Jan Carter Niccum, will be there on Tuesday, March 4 at 7:00 p.m for the Candidate Forum. This forum, hosted by the League of Women Voters of Champaign County and co-sponsored by the NAACP Champaign County Branch, will have a moderator asking prepared questions to each candidate.

Voters are encouraged to email questions in advance to Candidateforums.LWVCC@gmail.com by March 1, 2025. Note “Savoy Candidate Forum” in the subject line. Audience questions will also be taken as time allows.

“Local elections matter,” said League President Jane Santogrossi, “and candidate forums offer community members the opportunity to learn the candidates’ views on important topics. They also provide candidates the opportunity to hear directly from their constituents. We strongly encourage those eligible to vote for the Savoy Village President to attend.”
