Mohan Sankaran will present “Fixing Nitrogen Fixation: Reinventing How to Make Ammonia and Food” at the William M. Staerkel Planetarium on Friday, April 4 at 7:00 p.m. The presentation will be a part of the James B. Kaler Science Lecture Series, named after Jim Kaler. Sanakaran will delve into how recent advances in generating electricity has reinvigorated interest in plasmas and how that can be used to make food.
Sankaran earned his Ph. D at the California Institute of Technology and joined UIUC’s Department of Nuclear, Plasma, and Radiological Engineering in 2020. The lectures are filmed by Parkland College TV.
