URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – Urbana High School (UHS) will be the first school in the region to host the Cool Schools Polar Plunge.

The Cool Schools Polar Plunge invites UHS Students, staff, and families to take the plunge between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on the UHS football field. The Polar Plunge involves participants raising a minimum of $100 and taking a quick plunge into cold water. The proceeds will go to benefiting the Special Olympic Athletes to participate in their sporting events free of charge.

In previous years, UHS has participated in the plunge at the Lake of The Woods in Mahomet. The event is put on by Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run, who is partnered with Special Olympics throughout the year.
