CPD is asking that residents and businesses in the vicinity with external surveillance cameras come forward and assist in the investigation.
“Tips that lead to an arrest may offer a cash reward of up to $1000,” said the DPD in a Facebook post.
Champaign Police ask that anyone who has additional information please call 217-351-4545. Arrangements can be made for information to be shared privately.
The CCCO has confirmed that the 18-year-old male victim was George Dorris-Rodgers, and the female victim, also 18-years-old, was Daniyjah Staple.

“I am enraged that another innocent Black woman had her life taken from her at the hands of a police officer,” Governor J. B. Pritzker said.
UPD emphasizes that they will never ask for bank account information over the phone, and requests for personal information will usually be made in person.

Residents are advised to secure their valuables upon leaving their vehicles and to contact 911 if they notice any suspicious behavior.
Any resident or business in the nearby area with exterior surveillance camera systems is encouraged to notify the police department.
