CHAMPAIGN SHOOTING UPDATE: Champaign Police reveal more details of shooting Tuesday afternoon

Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was inside an apartment when a confrontation occurred with two unidentified men. During the argument, a gun was fired, and the victim was struck. The man fled the apartment, seeking assistance, and was located outside the building by responding officers. The suspects fled the scene after the incident.

Champaign Police investigate shooting on JT Coffman Drive

Champaign Police were dispatched at 3:23 p.m. to the 2600 block of JT Coffman Drive in Champaign after receiving reports of a shooting with injuries. Upon arrival, officers quickly located a victim suffering from potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds. They provided emergency medical aid at the scene until the victim could be transported to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment.
