URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – The Urbana Park District is set to begin improvements to the walking loop at South Ridge Park in March. The project will replace the existing asphalt path with a five-foot wide concrete trail, enhancing accessibility and durability for park-goers.
In addition to the new trail, the project will also include the installation of four new bench pads along the path and the creation of an accessible on-road parking stall on Myra Ridge Drive.
The improvements are expected to be completed by the summer of 2025, though weather conditions could impact the timeline. During the construction, parts of the trail may be closed, so visitors are urged to watch for signs. The park will remain open throughout the project.
