WASHINGTON, D.C. (Chambana Today) – Illinois Director of Athletics Josh Whitman will participate in a hearing today on Capitol Hill, addressing the impact of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) in college athletics. The U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade has organized the hearing titled “Moving the Goalposts: How NIL is Reshaping College Athletics.”
Whitman will be one of five witnesses to testify at the hearing, which is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Alongside him will be Shane Beamer, the head football coach at South Carolina; Emily Cole, an All-American track athlete from Duke; Anthony Egbo Jr., a football player at Abilene Christian; and Justin Falcinelli, a former Clemson football player and current Vice President of the College Football Players Association.
