DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – An 18-year-old Danville man was arrested on multiple charges Wednesday evening after attempting to flee from police during a routine patrol. At approximately 9:00 p.m. on March 12, members of the Danville Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing (P.O.P.) Unit were patrolling the 100 block of Cherry Street when they observed a subject walking illegally in the roadway.

When officers ordered the individual to stop, he attempted to run but was quickly apprehended. During the arrest, a loaded firearm was found on the suspect. The individual was identified as 18-year-old Kamarion E. Jones of Danville.

Jones was transported to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building, where he was booked on charges of aggravated unlawful possession of a handgun (under 21), aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and obstructing and resisting a peace officer.
