DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – On Friday evening, March 21, at around 9 p.m., members of the Danville Police Department Problem-Oriented Policing Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of Gilbert and Williams Streets after observing a moving violation.

Officers made contact with the two occupants of the vehicle, 19-year-old Alex Doe and 19-year-old Joshua S. Brocks, both residents of Danville. During the stop, police officers observed a firearm inside the vehicle. Upon further investigation, it was determined that neither of the men was legally allowed to possess a firearm.

As a result, both individuals were arrested and transported to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building for processing. Alex Doe, who was on probation in Vermilion County, was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon. Joshua Brocks was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
