CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Parkland Cobras ended their remarkable season as national runners-up after a heart-wrenching 55-54 loss to the Kirkwood Eagles in the NJCAA DII Championship Game, held at Danville Area Community College.

In a thrilling contest that stayed tight for all 40 minutes, the Cobras were unable to overcome a last-second free throw by the Eagles. Despite the loss, Parkland’s 33-3 season record marks an impressive achievement, and their second-place finish is the best for the program since 1988.

The Cobras played a hard-fought game, keeping the score close and staying competitive throughout. While they fell just short of the championship, their performance this season has solidified their place among the elite teams in NJCAA DII basketball.
