URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – Common Ground Food Co-op is proud to announce that it is now an Authorized WIC Vendor, making it easier for families in the Champaign-Urbana area to access healthy, pre-approved foods under the Illinois Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program.

WIC is a federal nutrition program that provides nutritious food, health referrals, and education to low-income women and children. With this new designation, WIC customers can now shop at Common Ground for a curated list of approved products, from fresh produce to staple pantry items.

“Becoming a WIC vendor is an important step toward supporting food access for all in our community,” said Marketing Manager Sarah Buckman. “We’re committed to helping families stretch their monthly food budgets with healthy, high-quality options.”

Community organizations that work with WIC-eligible households are encouraged to share the news and distribute Common Ground’s press kit, which includes a list of eligible WIC foods, a store map, and social media graphics. The co-op also offers a resource page for WIC customers and an online press release for easy sharing.
