Danville man arrested for first-degree murder

Danville Police have arrested 44-year-old Shane A. May in connection with the murder of Monty Peplow, following an eight-hour investigation that began with a call about a deceased individual in a home on the 700 block of Sherman Street.

DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – Danville Police have arrested 44-year-old Shane A. May in connection with the murder of Monty Peplow, following an eight-hour investigation that began with a call about a deceased individual in a home on the 700 block of Sherman Street.

Officers responded to the residence and, with the assistance of the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit, the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office, and several community members, gathered sufficient evidence to charge May with first-degree murder.

May was booked into the Vermilion County Public Safety Building, where he will remain in custody pending a court hearing on the charges.
