DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – The Danville Police Department is asking for the public’s help after a 75-year-old woman was shot in her home Monday evening.

Officers were already in the area when they heard approximately 20 gunshots around 9:00 p.m. on April 28. Shortly after, a 911 call confirmed a shooting in the 1000 block of Moore Street. Police arrived within seconds and found the elderly victim in her bedroom suffering from a gunshot wound.

She was transported to a local hospital, where she is listed in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators recovered several high-caliber shell casings at the scene, but there are currently no suspects or leads. Police say the victim was simply getting ready for bed when bullets struck her home.
