CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – An armed individual who barricaded himself inside a residence near the intersection of Halifax and Maynard Drives has been taken into custody without incident, according to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies successfully apprehended the subject following a standoff. No injuries were reported during the incident.
The identity of the suspect and the circumstances leading up to the standoff have not yet been released. Authorities have not disclosed whether any charges have been filed.
