DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – On Tuesday June 10 at around 7:45 p.m., Danville police officers responded to a hit and run traffic crash in the 1600 block of Edgewood Drive. Officers learned that the victim was four years old.

The victim was taken to a local hospital by family members before police arrived. They were listed as stable, but transferred to a hospital in Urbana.

A witness described a red SUV driving recklessly, being driven by 20-year-old Tyran A Coe of Danville. The vehicle struck the juvenile and then left the scene of the crash, and was later located unoccupied about two blocks from the scene of the incident.

Coe arrived at the Public Safety Building and turned himself in to the Danville Police Department at around 10:50 p.m., and was booked at the Vermilion County Jail on charges of Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Aggravated Reckless Driving.
