DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – 30-year-old Danville man is hospitalized in serious condition following a shooting Saturday night, July 5.

According to the Danville Police Department, officers were called to the 400 block of N. Vermilion around 10:00 p.m., where they located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital in Urbana, where he remains under medical care.

Investigators determined the actual scene of the shooting to be on the northwest side of Churchill Towers, located in the 100 block of E. Seminary Street. The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit processed the location for evidence.

At this time, police say they do not have any suspects, witnesses, or active leads. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that may help identify those responsible.
