CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Rosecrance Community is taking a major step toward integrated healthcare by launching clinically validated vital signs health kiosks in the lobbies of its Champaign and Rockford locations, giving clients greater access to essential health metrics.
The initiative is led from Rosecrance Walnut, located at 801 N. Walnut Street in Champaign, and reflects Rosecrance’s mission to provide holistic care that supports both behavioral and physical health.
The new kiosks, created by PharmaSmart, are advanced health stations that allow users to measure key health indicators such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and Body Mass Index (BMI) in under a minute. These self-service stations bridge a critical gap in care by offering immediate, accurate assessments—especially for clients who may not regularly see a nurse.
“Some of our clients may not have the opportunity to interact directly with a nurse who can perform essential vital checks,” said Amy Young, Director of Nursing at Rosecrance. “Recognizing this gap, we identified the need for an innovative solution that provides accessible and comprehensive care.”
The data collected can be reviewed by Rosecrance medical staff and used to connect clients with appropriate primary care services, helping detect and address cardiovascular risks early on.
The kiosks are located at:
- Rosecrance Walnut, 801 N. Walnut St., Champaign
- Rosecrance Ware Center, 2701 N. Main St., Rockford
Larry Kramer, President of PharmaSmart, emphasized the broader health benefits: “Hypertension is a significant risk factor for many cardiovascular diseases. We’re proud to support Rosecrance in its effort to improve access and empower clients through technology.”
